Hey everyone! My partner and I are excited to start our own woodworking workshop in New York City. We're on the lookout for the best places to buy wood and paint. If anyone has tips on where to go, we'd really appreciate it!

Just a heads up, NYC’s woodworking scene is super competitive. You've got high-end architectural firms with massive shops up against small operations. When jobs are scarce, those big firms might even take on projects at a loss just to keep their staff employed. Just something to keep in mind!
You should definitely check out Rosenzweig Lumber for plywood and hardwood. Another good option is Robert's Plywood. If you need moldings, Dykes Lumber has a fantastic selection. For marine quality hardwoods, Maurice Condon in North White Plains is worth considering too.
