Hey everyone! I'm a beginner in woodworking and I'm looking for reliable sources to buy wood online in the UK. Unfortunately, I don't have a big car, so I'd need to arrange for delivery. I just had a day at B&Q and trust me, it’s a bit of a gamble ordering wood online. I recommend going in person to pick it out; that way, you can inspect it. A lot of their wood can be warped, so I had to go through a bunch of pieces before finding good ones. Also, you might want to check out pallet wood since it's free and great for practicing before you invest in anything more expensive. It's totally worth it!

I’ve had good experiences with Arnold Laver—delivery is around £36, which isn't too bad if you're ordering a decent quantity like 2x4s or sheets. The delivery guys are super helpful, which is a plus! If you're after hardwood, you'll probably need to visit the store since stock can vary. Also, know someone who turns wood and he grabs green wood when people are felling trees, so if you’ve got a truck or know local sources, that could be a fun way to find wood!
