Hey everyone! I'm currently using an Echo Speedfeed 400 on my single battery trimmer, but I'm still using the stock head on my dual battery model. I've looked up the part number for the bump cap (42-30-0051), but so far, the only place I've found to buy it is Great Lakes Power Tools, and they're sold out. It's frustrating because I hate having to shell out $35 for a new head every time it wears out. Has anyone else found a good source for these caps? Also, if anyone has replaced the head on their dual battery trimmer and is using 0.105 line, I'd love to hear your experiences!

I use a Shakespeare head on my trimmer and haven't had any problems. It works just fine!
I've installed a Husqvarna T35 on my single battery trimmer and it fits great. It's a universal straight shaft, so it should work for you too. It runs 0.105 and is super easy to load and use! I've had good luck with it, although I understand your concern about the Echo head on the M18—it can sometimes struggle to cut the line properly.
Thanks for the tip! I'll check out the Husqvarna!

Is that for the single or dual battery model?
