Where Should I Place My Downspout After Renovation?

I'm wrapping up an addition and renovation on my house, and I need some advice about a downspout's placement. Is it possible for the new gutter to connect directly to an existing gutter that goes down to the ground, or is it problematic if the downspout drains onto the roof instead? Here's a picture for reference: [link to image](https://i.ibb.co/WLhw7JT/IMG-20250726-213005.jpg)

Yep, connecting the downspout to another gutter is totally fine! Just make sure it doesn't drain onto the roof because that could lead to water getting under the shingles or causing issues with your siding. You should be all good either way!

Generally, you should avoid letting the downspout dump water onto the roof. It's much better to connect it to the existing gutter, directing the water down to the ground. This prevents any potential mold or moss buildup that might happen if too much water collects in one spot.
