Where’s the Best Place to Buy Affordable Plants for My Garden?

Hey everyone! I'm just getting into gardening and have recently finished my patio, where I've created some borders. I'm really excited to fill them with vibrant, cottage-garden-style plants that also attract pollinators since we have a lot of bees buzzing around. I know that buying plants can get pricey, so I'm curious about the most budget-friendly options. I've spotted plants at places like B&M, Home Bargains, Aldi, and Lidl—are those worth it, or should I invest in a garden center instead? Also, I've seen some online shops; can anyone recommend specific ones? By the way, my border is roughly 6 meters long and needs a mix of sun and shade-loving plants. I'm located in Yorkshire, so any local advice would be great!

You can snag some great deals at B&M! I recently found scabious and Geum 'Totally Tangerine' for just a fiver each. Just make sure you know what you’re looking for, and consider sticking with perennials since they come back every year. A good local nursery is also a fantastic option. If you're patient, buying smaller plants is cheaper too—plus, you could add a few flowering shrubs for structure!

Definitely visit a few nurseries to compare prices and selections. Don't rush into just one place; keep an eye on light requirements too. And think about where you’ll plant them based on their height!
