Where’s the Best Place to Buy Quality Plywood in Australia?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on where to find nice plywood here in Australia. I've been watching woodworking YouTube channels from the USA, and they seem to have super easy access to quality birch veneer plywood at places like Home Depot. That's kind of like Bunnings, right? However, it feels like prices have gone up recently.

I'm particularly interested in reasonably priced options since I've seen some websites charging around $150 for a 2.2m x 1.5m x 9 mm sheet. If you've got any recommendations for physical stores in Melbourne, that would be awesome! Also, if plywood isn't the way to go, what do people usually use for workbench tops?

For my workbench top, I actually used garden sleepers which were super affordable at around $40. Plus, I had leftovers for a garden bed—just a thought if you’re looking for budget-friendly options!

I mostly work with hardwoods after visiting a local sawmill, but when I do buy plywood, I find Mitre 10 tends to have better quality than Bunnings. You could give that a shot!

I used to get some great marine ply from Bunnings a few years back, but honestly, I haven't found much good plywood there recently. You might want to check out some local suppliers instead.

If you're in Brisbane, Sharp Panels is a place to consider. They can supply panels with any veneer you want, so might be worth checking them out!

You could try Plyco for good plywood options. They have some decent quality stuff, and you can order it. Just be sure to check if they deliver or if you need to pick it up yourself.

Do you know if they have a delivery service? Or is it mostly for in-store pickup?
