Where’s the Best Place to Find Thick Wire Mesh for Building Bait Traps?

I'm looking to get my hands on some sturdy wire mesh, specifically for constructing a bait trap similar to what I found in this YouTube video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x6JAQJhuJ0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x6JAQJhuJ0). I've checked places like Home Depot, but they only have thin-gauge mesh. What I'm really after is wire mesh that's either 1 inch by 1 inch or even smaller and thicker than 16 gauge. Does anyone know where I can buy this kind of mesh?

Tractor Supply has a pretty good selection compared to Home Depot. They might have the thicker options you're after.

If you keep striking out locally, don't forget McMaster-Carr. They have loads of options for wire mesh, and the site is easy to navigate. Might find just what you need there.

If local hardware stores aren’t cutting it, consider trying farm supply companies or fencing suppliers. They typically stock a wider range of options, especially for thicker gauge wire.

How do I find farm supply companies? Google Maps didn’t help much.

You could also check out McNICHOLS. I found 11 gauge woven mesh in 1"x1" squares on their site. They have various options and locations across the USA, so it might be worth a look.

If you’re near the coast, a net supply store could be your best bet. They usually carry good PVC-coated trap wire mesh available by the foot.
