Which 20V Ratchet Should I Choose for DIY Projects?

I'm trying to choose between two 20V ratchets for my home projects: the 20-Volt Cordless 3/8 in. to 1/2 in. Ratchet (DCF510B) and the ATOMIC 20V MAX* Cordless Ratchet, Brushless, 3/8 in. (DCF513B). They rarely seem to go on sale, so I'm wondering if I have to just accept the full price. Also, would the Atomic version be good enough for someone who does DIY projects at home?

The DCF510B is expected to go on sale around Memorial Day or Father's Day, so keep an eye out! I saw it drop to about $229 CAD (around $164 USD) up here in Canada not too long ago.

For home projects, the Atomic should work just fine if you don't need the larger anvil size. I love the interchangeable anvils too; they're super handy! I ended up fixing my lawnmower with tools I didn't think I'd use, saving me a ton of cash!

That's a great point! It's nice when tools end up being more versatile than you expected.

Just go for Snap-on, man. Don't waste time with other brands—they can't compete!

Honestly, the DCF510B 3/8" is amazing. I use mine for heavy equipment and my diesel truck without any issues. Just grab a couple of 1.7AH Powerstacks for maximum torque—they fit perfectly! For anything needing a 1/2" drive, I usually go with an impact gun instead.

I own the DCF512 Atomic 1/2” and it's solid! I can often use a 3/8” adapter as well, which is super helpful for light work. It really saves my arms! I plan on getting the 12V DCF500 next since it's faster and quite powerful too.
