Which Adirondack Chair Plans Are Better: April Wilkerson or Popular Mechanics?

Hey everyone! I'm planning to build a couple of Adirondack chairs as a wedding gift for some friends and I'm torn between using plans from April Wilkerson or Popular Mechanics. I'm leaning towards getting a digital version since the plans from Wilkerson are cheaper and focus on just the chairs. However, I noticed that the Popular Mechanics plans come with extra details for a leg rest and even a table, plus other projects. Has anyone here worked with either of these plans? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences before I make a decision!

I’ve found the plans from Kings Fine Woodworking to be particularly good! Just throwing it out there if you're looking for more options.

If you're curious, I actually built the Popular Mechanics chairs and they turned out great! Definitely worth your time. But if you want to explore other designs, I really recommend checking out the Jackman Works plans. The curves on the arms are just stunning! I've built chairs based on a design similar to Popular Mechanics. The plus side of Wilkerson's is that they fold, but that might not be a deal-breaker for you. If you go with Popular Mechanics, I suggest changing how the armrests attach to the front legs. Instead of having screws from the top, try screwing them in from underneath for added durability. Nice tip! That makes a lot of sense for sturdiness.
