Which Bar and Chain Can I Use for a DCCS677 Replacement?

I'm searching for a compatible bar and chain replacement for my DCCS677 that originally came with a 20" bar. I want something more manageable, preferably a 16" version, but an 18" would work too if the 16" isn't available. I don't need to use a 20" bar daily, so I'm looking for a more versatile option.

For a 16" replacement, you can try the Oregon 160sxea041 bar and pair it with an Oregon S56 chain. This combo should work nicely.

Oregon makes compatible bars, so you can get any Oregon bar that matches. Just check the packaging for compatibility. I actually found a 16" bar and chain combo on clearance at Home Depot for my DCCS677, and it worked great!

The stock bar and chain specs for the DCCS677 are 3/8 low profile 0.050 gauge. Just look for something that matches those dimensions in the length you want. Make sure to double-check that the adjustment slot and oiler holes at the base of the bar fit with your original.

You can really go with any bar or chain as long as they match the sprocket pitch, which is 3/8lp in this case. Just note that they'll be either .043 or .050 gauge, and I'd suggest going with the .050 gauge since it tends to stretch and wear less. Also, make sure the tail mount of the bar matches A041.

I've got an Oregon S62 chain running on an 18" Oregon bar for my DeWalt, and it fits perfectly. Most 18" bars should work well, I even used a Poulan bar while waiting for my parts from DeWalt. Just remember, the S62 chain is a 3/8 pitch with a 0.050 groove.
