I'm diving into woodworking and looking to pick my first miter saw. I've found two Bosch models on sale right now, the GCM12SD and the CM10GD, and I'm trying to figure out which one would be best for someone who's just starting out like me. I already own a circular saw, but I want to make precise 45-degree cuts for some upcoming projects, like capping my raised beds and remaking the deck railing. I'm a bit scared of table saws, but I plan to eventually get one. What do you think? Should I go for one of the Bosch models, or does Dewalt's DWS780 or DWS779 have the edge?

I have the Bosch GCM 12 GDL and I'm really happy with it! It's super versatile and works great for what I need. Just a heads up, your region might affect model names, though. I've seen the GDL in Canada and the SD in the US!

Good to know! I saw the GDL on the Bosch website too. Definitely a good option! You might want to check the specs on Home Depot's site to compare.
