I've noticed a lot of discussions about compact impact drivers lately and I'm curious about which model to pick. I'm looking for a model with a 3-speed selector that would be ideal for general DIY tasks. I currently have the DCF887, which has served me well, but it is quite loud and powerful for some of the lighter jobs I've tackled. I want something that's a bit more manageable. Any recommendations? Thanks!

If you're looking at hydraulic models, check out the DCF870. It only has a single hydraulic setting but comes with two speeds. I haven't come across any negative reviews about it, and I'm actually waiting for a good sale to grab one myself!
I recently switched from the DCF887 to the DCF870 and I'm loving it! The 870 is way quieter than both the 887 and the 850, but still packs plenty of punch. I definitely recommend it for general DIY projects!
Interesting choice! I've heard it has less torque on paper compared to the 887, but folks seem to say it doesn't feel underpowered. Have you noticed any limitations in its performance?
