I've been using my DCD777 Cordless Drill Driver for years and have two 20vMax batteries that work well with it. Now, I'm on the hunt for an impact driver that is compatible with those same batteries. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the options on Amazon and want to understand the differences between the various models available. The options I'm considering include the DCF787D1, DCF845D1E1, DCF860B, DCF809B, and the DCK240C2 combo kit that comes with a drill and impact driver. I'm mainly looking to use this tool for home decking projects—I'm currently redoing my back deck, front porch, and a balcony deck. Are there any specifics I should know about compatibility, power levels, or which model would serve my needs best?

All of these models are going to work well for your home projects. If you're looking for the best performance, the DCF860B is the current top model and handles everything without a hitch. The DCF845D1E1 and DCF850 are also great and just slightly behind in power. The DCF787D1 is a solid choice too; it's a bit older but still reliable. If you're considering the DCF809B, it’s more of an entry-level option but could still get the job done, although for the same price, you'd want to explore better options. Also, you might want to check out the DCF870; it offers plenty of power with a quieter operation. Definitely make sure they’re compatible with your batteries, though.

Will all these models work with my existing batteries? I noticed the 860 might require different batteries.
