Which Gloves Last the Longest for Landscaping?

Asked By NatureNinja23 On

I've been picking up landscaping gigs on the side and I keep going through gloves way too quickly. It's getting frustrating to spend around $20 on a pair every couple of weeks. While I know that tough jobs like pulling out rose bushes can ruin any gloves, I'm looking for recommendations on gloves that can withstand regular activities like weeding. Ideally, I'd prefer something lightweight, easy to maneuver in, and preferably waterproof. Any suggestions?

I've been using these cheap nitrile-dipped shop gloves, and they work well for me, though I go through them pretty quickly. For thorny stuff like brambles, cowhide gloves are a must. But hey, if you find yourself weeding in the rain, consider wearing a pair of latex gloves over your nitrile ones—the combo keeps your hands cozy and mostly dry!

Yeah, we do the same with nitrile gloves. I find Cathartic nitrile gloves for about 8 bucks each and they hold up decently. Can't justify spending more when none seem to last long anyway.

Absolutely agree! I keep boxes of those cheap gloves on hand. Even when I’m laying pavers, they get torn up, but at least the cheap ones are breathable.

You know, I usually buy black mechanic gloves from Harbor Freight for around $5. They used to be reliable, but they've cheaped out on materials recently. But honestly, I just stock up on cheap gloves because they get lost or torn so often.

Yeah, I can't stand spending so much on gloves that don’t last. I also buy the orange or blue clip holders from HD and Lowe's to keep track of my gloves!

Honestly, I hardly wear gloves unless it’s cold or I’m mixing chemicals. But if you’re looking for something light, Tractor Supply has these thin gloves that are double dipped in waterproofing—they usually last a couple of months and are around $10. Just a thought!
