I've noticed there's a ton of buzz around certain houseplants, but it seems like some of them are much tougher to care for than people claim. Personally, I struggle with the fiddle-leaf fig—it's gorgeous, but a total challenge! What plant do you feel is overhyped and doesn't live up to the expectations?

Honestly, I think maidenhair ferns are a bit overrated. They’re so delicate that even a little misstep can lead to disaster! Gorgeous plant, but it feels like it has a death wish right from the start.
I totally get what you're saying! For me, the calathea is a real pain. It can look stunning when it's thriving, but I just can't keep mine happy. And don’t even get me started on jade plants—they're noble but can be a bit messy!

Right? I got so tired of my calatheas dying that I switched to marantha. They look similar but are way less finicky!
