Which Impact Driver Should I Choose for My DIY Projects?

Hey everyone! I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and could use some help deciding on an impact driver. My goal is to find something durable and budget-friendly since I'm not using it for professional work but rather for my woodworking and carpentry hobby. I'm planning some projects like home remodeling, building a workbench, and even a chicken coop. I'm considering doing some concrete or masonry work in the future, but that's not urgent right now. I already have two M18 batteries (plus a charger and a fan), so I'm open to sticking with Milwaukee or exploring other brands. Check out the options I'm looking at and let me know what you think!

I've got a Metabo HPT impact driver that I love, and I think it's worth mentioning that you should choose a battery platform based on what specialty tools you might need down the road. Brushless drivers are the way to go, and honestly, I think all the brands you're looking at are good enough. Just keep an eye out for sales at Home Depot, especially since you can stack military discounts or catch deal days. Also, don't overlook Bosch—they have solid woodworking options and some great concrete tools if you go that route!

It's smart to pick a single tool system to save on battery costs. I'm a huge fan of Ryobi tools; they've worked great for my needs, and I always recommend sticking with one brand for battery-powered tools, especially since Home Depot is nearby. Sure, other brands might have more fancy features, but if you're not using them for heavy-duty work, Ryobi can definitely get the job done. Plus, wear that neon green with pride!

Haha, loving the green too! I totally get why you're being cautious about battery costs. Sticking to one brand will definitely save you headaches down the road.

Totally agree! I have some Dewalt tools, including the impact driver you linked, and they perform really well. Just pick a brand and stick with it for the best experience.

I've got a mixed bag of tools in every color under the sun, but for battery stuff, I lean towards yellow. I once bought a 5-piece set, and they've held up like a champ. If you're going battery-powered, I'd suggest selecting a brand and fully committing to it. It'll make life way easier when dealing with chargers and swapped batteries!
