I've been acquiring M18 tools over the past few months for various projects, primarily woodworking, but I also handle car maintenance and trailers. Now, I'm considering purchasing an impact wrench, specifically torn between the high torque model 2666 priced at 200 CAD, and the mid torque model 2962P which is available for 180 CAD. I also have an old cat loader from my family that I want to get running again, and I anticipate needing something powerful enough to deal with rusted parts. I'd love to hear what you all think would suit my needs best!

I'd suggest going with the mid torque model and using a breaker bar for tougher jobs. While the high torque has more power, it might not be ideal for everyday tasks. A lot of users end up breaking things when they use too much force, so keeping it moderate is key. I think there should be a chart out there showing the best torque ranges for these tools since most deep dives only focus on maximum power. As you build your collection, experimenting with a torque meter could be really insightful!

Thanks for your reply! I appreciate your insight, I definitely sometimes get trapped in the bigger number better, nothing else matters trap. There is a nagging bit in my mind about the things I've snapped with too much force in my life haha. I think you're right that the mid torque and bringing out the breaker bar if things are really stubborn is the way to go!
