I'm trying to decide between Dewalt and Skilsaw for a portable table saw in the $300-$600 range. I'm looking for something durable enough that I won't feel the need to replace it in just a few years. Has anyone had experience with either of these brands?

I've used the Skil wormdrive since 2018 and it's been a workhorse. It’s a bit loud and occasionally I’ve had to fix the motor brushes, but it offers good power and a nice fence setup for travel. Just make sure you have a good outfeed support, as that can be tricky.
If you're choosing between the Skil TS6307 and the 8.25-inch Dewalt, I'd definitely pick the Skil. But if you’re torn between the Skil and the 10-inch Dewalt, I’d lean towards the Dewalt for the power. I’m currently satisfied with my Skil until I can upgrade to a cabinet saw, though!
I had the Dewalt DWE7491RS and it was fantastic! The rack and pinion fence is a game changer and it can handle a dado stack easily. I highly recommend it—especially since it's on sale for $549 right now.
I recently got the SawStop Compact which is a bit pricier, but it's been amazing. It's got a great rack and pinion fence and lots of power. Just a heads-up, though—it doesn't allow for a dado stack. The Dewalt also has a compact version that a lot of people swear by if you’re not concerned about SawStop's safety features.
