I'm thinking about getting a saw for carving small figurines, but I'm torn between a band saw and a scroll saw. I want to know which one would be better for this kind of work and why. Any insights or personal experiences would be super helpful!

From my experience, a band saw is great for roughing out shapes. It allows for quick cuts, and while it can handle some detail with a thin blade, it really shines when you're working on thicker woods. Scroll saws are definitely better for intricate designs and sharp turns, though. If you're just getting started, I recommend looking for brands like WEN for affordable options.
