Which is Better for Cutting: M12 Cut Off Saw or 20V Skil Grinder?

I'm trying to decide between using the M12 cut off saw or a 20V Skil grinder for my upcoming projects. I'll be working on hog panels and metal roofing, and I've heard the cut off saw might be underpowered for these tasks. I already have both battery platforms so I'm leaning towards getting a 3 or 5 ah M12 battery. What do you think?

Honestly, comparing these tools isn't totally fair. The cutoff tool shines in tight spots and is great for small jobs, so it could be perfect for the hog panels you’re working on. Just keep in mind that it’s a 12V tool, so it won’t pack the same punch as the Skil grinder, especially if you have a lot of roofing to cut. I mostly reach for my cut off saw over my angle grinder, but that’s mainly because I don’t need to cut through materials that are too thick for it. If you're comfortable using an angle grinder, you might find that more powerful for larger cuts.

If you’re cutting a significant amount of metal roofing, I'd highly recommend going with the Skil grinder. It’s going to handle the material much better than the cut off saw, especially if you're doing more extensive cuts. Just make sure you have the right blades for either tool! Sometimes, having the right attachment makes all the difference.
