Which is better for finish sanding: M12 Detail Sander or Bosch GSS12V-40N?

I'm trying to decide between the M12 detail sander and the Bosch GSS12V-40N 12V finishing sander with a detail sanding plate. I build custom furniture like doors, tables, and built-ins. Since I'm already on both battery platforms, that's not a factor for me. I'd appreciate feedback on both—what's good, what's bad, and any other insights you have. Thanks!

I've only used the Milwaukee M12 detail sander, but it's impressive for tight spaces, especially for panel work. If you're serious about finish sanding, you might want to look into the Mirka or SurfPrep options for better dust extraction and availability of sandpaper. The M12 is great for detailed work, and I've found it aggressive enough with 80 grit paper. Just remember that it doesn’t orbit as much, so it can leave a scratchy pattern. Nevertheless, I love mine!

Thanks for the insight! I already have 5 and 6-inch random orbital sanders. Do you think I should use the Bosch for detail work and keep the M12 for localized sanding?
