Which Landscaping and Gardening Tools Should I Invest In?

I'm trying to figure out the best brands for landscaping and gardening tools, as there seem to be so many gimmicks out there. It's crucial for me to invest in tools that will last and perform well, similar to some kitchen gadgets that often disappoint in quality. I'm looking for essential tools for a regular homeowner and want to make sure I'm getting the best brands. Here's what I currently own: a Milwaukee lawn mower, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, a super sawzall, and my grandpa's weeder. I've got my eye on a Hori Hori knife and am leaning towards Barebones or Nikasu, plus I just ordered a Felco F2 pruner. I'm also considering a basic gardening set, a way to carry my tools, and some gardening gauntlet gloves. Lastly, I need advice on managing weeds in cracks and what to do with grass trimmings after mowing—I'm waiting for a deal on a Milwaukee blower. I had a bit of a mishap with a Spetsnaz shovel and wish I'd opted for a proper shovel set instead.

For high-quality pruners, I highly recommend the Felco #2 pruners. They’re durable and come with a great leather sleeve that protects them. Also, you might want a solid 36-inch aluminum grading rake and a Jackson wheelbarrow with air-filled tires for easy maneuvering. As for shovels, make sure to invest in a good one—here’s a link to some top shovels I found: [link]

I agree! I’d also opt for a travel tool with a serrated edge instead of the Hori Hori knife. It's more versatile.

You should check out Tubtrug flexible buckets! They come in handy for so many tasks around the garden, like watering, weeding, or even carting tools. I use mine for everything and they hold up really well!

For getting rid of weeds in cracks, try dumping baking soda over the areas where the weeds grow. It will lower the pH and make it tough for anything to grow there later on. Super simple and effective!
