Which Leaf Blower Should I Choose: DCBL777 or DCBL772?

I'm in the market for a new leaf blower and could use some advice. I'm considering two options from Home Depot. The first is the DCBL777, which comes with one 4Ah Flexvolt battery and a charger for $439. The second option is the DCBL772, which includes one 3Ah Flexvolt and a charger, but there's a current offer that gives you a free additional 9Ah Flexvolt battery for a total of $299. My main uses are blowing off the driveway and sidewalk after mowing, as well as cleaning up leaves during fall. My property is a corner lot pretty much 13,000 sq ft total. It seems like the cheaper option comes with two batteries, which sounds like a steal, but I've heard the 777 is newer and more powerful. Are there significant downsides to the 772 that might make the 777 worth the extra cost? Also, I'm planning to buy the DCST972 trimmer with two 6Ah Flexvolt batteries; I already have quite a few 20V power tools.

The DCBL777 is a definite upgrade. It’s quieter than the DCBL772, which is important if you're concerned about hearing health in the long run. While you can definitely get by with either for simple tasks like blowing off the driveway, if you’re dealing with heavier leaf piles, you’ll really notice the benefit of going with the 777.

I agree, the difference is significant! But if you're just clearing small areas, the 772 would still do the trick.

I just picked up the DCBL772 with the extra battery deal, and it works great for my 2 acres! Having two batteries is a lifesaver since blowers consume a lot of power. Expect each battery to last around 20 minutes, so having that extra really keeps you going without breaks.

That's good to know! I think getting two batteries is a smart move for anyone doing lots of yard work.

While the 777 has more power and lower noise levels, the 772's deal with the extra battery makes it really appealing. Just keep in mind the runtime; you might need to switch batteries pretty quickly with the 772. But overall, it's a solid choice if you're looking to save some cash.

For sure, that extra battery could be a game-changer! I'd pick the 772 for that reason.
