I'm curious about the reliability of M12 and M18 batteries. I've come across some info suggesting that certain models are more prone to failure than others. For instance, I've heard that the M12 6.0 battery isn't very reliable, and some users claim the M18 8.0, 9.0, and 12.0 batteries can be spotty too. Meanwhile, the M18 5.0 and 6.0 seem to have a better reputation. Does anyone have insight into which batteries are considered 'duds' or have a list of those I'd be better off skipping?

From what I've seen, the M12 batteries with the 3.0 cells, like the M12 3.0 and 6.0, are pretty unreliable. I'm honestly surprised they haven't been phased out yet. Also, the M18's 9.0 batteries were recalled and discontinued, and it sounds like the 12.0 has been replaced by newer forge versions. So, if you can, steer clear of those 3.0s and the older 9.0s!

I've got an HO 12 battery as well. Do you think I can swap it for one of the forge batteries?
