Hey everyone! As a new homeowner with lots of trees (both big and small) and some pesky stumps from a recent landscaping job, I'm on the hunt for the best all-around tool for outdoor work. I have a solid array of indoor tools, including M18 and M12 power tools, but I'm looking to expand my outdoor arsenal. I'm considering the M18 Fuel Hackzall, M18 Fuel Sawzall, or the M18 Fuel Hatchet. If anyone has experience with these, which one do you think would serve my needs best? I'm hoping to take down roots and manage some trimming without breaking the bank. And just for fun, could someone help me come up with a good excuse to get all three of them? Thanks!

Honestly, I’d go with the Hatchet for the kind of work you’re describing. It makes quick work of limbs and small stumps, while the Sawzall is a bit bulkier for yard work. But if you want to do some heavier duty stuff in the future, definitely consider adding it to your collection!
I think getting all three would definitely speed up your yard work. Plus, you could spend more time enjoying your yard! If you don’t want to break the bank, I’d say the Hackzall is a great versatile choice for tackling those roots, and it’s easy to handle one-handed.
Exactly! It’s like having a paring knife—great for precision work.
I’ve used the Hatchet and it’s fantastic for pruning, just be careful not to hit the dirt with the chain. If you’re worried about sharpness, the Hackzall makes cutting roots much easier since you just swap out blades instead of sharpening chains.
Totally agree! The Hackzall is super convenient.

Thanks for the advice! I’m leaning towards the Hatchet.
