Which Milwaukee Tool Combo Should I Choose: M12 or M18?

I'm looking to invest in a reliable tool set for some DIY projects around the house, and I've zeroed in on Milwaukee tools. I'm definitely going with the M12 insider and the M12 3/8 stubby, but I'm stuck on whether to get the M12 or M18 drill driver impact set. I want something that works seamlessly and fits my needs without getting into high-end, heavy-duty stuff. Any advice on which to choose considering my typical home use?

Honestly, if you're leaning towards the M12 you've made a great choice! The M12 Fuel impact driver is fantastic for home improvement tasks. Plus, if you're getting the stubby, I'd suggest scoring a 5.0 high-output battery since you can usually snag one for free with the drill driver kit. You'll love it for day-to-day tasks!

I've got both M12 and M18 Fuel tools, but for typical home renovations, I really prefer the M12 version because it’s lighter and easier to handle. For most tools, M12 Fuel should suit you just fine! If you need something more powerful occasionally, go for corded tools instead.

If you think you might need a bit more power in the future, consider starting with an M18 mid-torque combo set instead of the stubby. They often come in good bundle deals and are quite powerful for general tasks. The added weight isn’t a huge issue unless you’re using it every day, and it prepares you for more serious tasks, plus a reason to grab the stubby later. Trust me, the strong M18 will cover most of your needs!

I get that! I guess I’m just unsure whether I’ll truly need that extra power. I’ll think about it and make a decision soon!
