Which Nail Gun Should I Choose for Framing and Subfloor Installation?

I'm in the market for a nail gun to help with installing a 3/4" subfloor and doing some basic framing. Since I've never purchased a nail gun before, I'm unsure about what features to prioritize. I have been leaning towards a pneumatic model, thinking it might be the best choice. Considering my workflow, I believe buying a nail gun would be more cost-effective than renting one. I'm currently looking at this RIDGID Pneumatic 21-Degree Framing Nailer: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-Pneumatic-21-Degree-3-1-2-in-Round-Head-Framing-Nailer-R350RHF/207103100. Are there any homeowners or professionals out there who could share their insights, preferences, or advice on nail guns?

If you ask me, I’ve had great success with my used Hitachi nailer (now branded as Metabo). Lots of pros use them! That said, the RIDGID is a solid choice for homeowner tasks.

That RIDGID nail gun should work perfectly if you have an air compressor. If you don't, consider getting a cordless model like the Paslode. Cordless nailers are super convenient!

I do have a compressor! But if I decided to go cordless, would this Paslode model be a good option? Honestly, go with a cordless nailer. They perform almost as well as pneumatic. But for subfloor work, I suggest using screws instead of nails to avoid squeaks later on.

Yeah, I wouldn't use nails for the subfloor either. Every spot I used nails in my house ended up squeaking, but screws worked perfectly.
