I've been noticing that so many yards are filled with the same old plants like boxwoods, yew, ornamental grass, and arborvitae. Personally, I find them pretty dull and overused. Sure, they're low maintenance, but I think there are so many other exciting options out there. What do you all think? Are there specific plants that you're tired of seeing in people's gardens? I'd love to hear your take on this and maybe change my mind!

I get that some plants can feel boring, but I think we should be careful labeling native plants as ‘no maintenance.’ It really depends on the location and whether you're matching the right plant to its environment. There’s a lot more to consider!
Ornamental grasses definitely deserve some love! They offer a ton of variety and look great throughout the seasons, so I wouldn't write them off just yet.
You think those boxwoods are bad? Try living next to people with ugly Norway maples. They’re super invasive and just wreck the neighborhood's vibe!

Not everyone wants to fuss with their yard. Some folks just want something easy to maintain, like arborvitae. If it works for them, then why not? Plus, I’ve got some native ornamental grasses that add a ton of character without being invasive.
