Which Popular Plants Just Don’t Make Sense to You?

I've been browsing this subreddit for a while and while I love most of the current trendy plants, I just can't wrap my head around the hype surrounding the fiddle leaf fig. It's not that I dislike it, but it seems overrated to me! So, I'm curious—are there any popular plants you see here that you just don't understand the appeal of? Let's hear your thoughts!

Fiddle leaf figs? I can't keep one alive for the life of me! I have a small one that’s dropping leaves faster than it’s growing. I’ve tried everything and I just can't figure it out! Anyone have any tips?

Try watering every 10-14 days and let it dry out between drinks. That worked for me!

A good mix of orchid bark and soil, and don’t forget to fertilize regularly! That made mine thrive.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of variegation. I get that some people love how it looks like the leaves are painted, but for me, I prefer solid dark green leaves. Just gives off better vibes in my space!

That's funny, I'm the complete opposite! The more variegation, the better for me!

Totally agree! Variegation can make plants seem unhealthy to me, and I feel like the trend will die out soon.

Honestly, Lithops baffle me. They look like living rocks, and I can't see the appeal at all! Why are people into these?

WeirdPlantDude -

Right? I just googled them and I'm still confused about who thinks they’re cute to grow!

It's really just a plant for the ‘gram, isn’t it? I don’t get it either!
