Hey everyone! I'm installing a new toilet in my tiny bathroom, and I've hit a bit of a snag with the rough-in size. It measures 14 inches, but I've heard mixed advice — some folks say I need a toilet with a 14-inch rough-in, while others insist a 12-inch would work just fine. I'd prefer to avoid any major flooring changes if I can use a 12-inch rough-in instead, especially since the 14-inch models aren't really suitable for my space (I need a round seat and ideally a 16-inch rim height). Any recommendations or insights? Thanks!

For sure, I'd suggest going with the 14-inch rough-in. It ensures a snug fit without any gaps. Just a heads up though, they're usually pricier than the 12-inch ones. But hey, toilets are rarely replaced, so it's worth the investment!
You can definitely use a 12-inch rough-in, but keep in mind that it will push the tank a bit further from the wall. Just something to consider when you’re planning the layout!
Got it! Good to know how that affects placement. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! What brand did you go with?
