I'm considering the free tool promotion at Lowe's and plan to get the cordless palm router. I'm on the fence about what the second tool should be. I'm leaning toward either a jigsaw or a multi-tool, but I'm also interested in the reciprocating saw and the sander. I mostly work on house projects and I'm a novice woodworker. What do you all recommend? Is there a must-have tool I'm overlooking?

I think the router is a solid choice! For the second, I'd recommend the reciprocating saw. It's a super versatile tool that can tackle lots of jobs. I wouldn’t go for the sander since you can usually snag those pretty cheap individually. The jigsaw pairs well with the router, too.
It really depends on what you'll use the tools for most. If you’re primarily doing woodworking, I’d say the jigsaw and sander would be solid picks, though the router is also great. I personally use my reciprocating saw and oscillating tool way more for various tasks. The circular saw is another tool you might want to consider if you don't have one yet.
Go for the two most expensive tools you’ll actually use. The reciprocating saw and the jigsaw will give you the best bang for your buck out of your shortlist. Plus, the multi-tool is handy around the house, so you can't go wrong with that!
