I'm planning to install a storm door, but I'm stuck on whether it should swing to the left or right. My main door opens inward to the right, and I worry that if I mount the storm door on that side, I'll have to maneuver around it every time I go through. Would it be better to make the storm door open to the left, even if it means the doorknob will be on the opposite side of my existing door? I'm looking for some advice or experiences from others.

It's really a matter of what works best for you. The hinges are typically on the same side for both doors, but if you find that swinging left is more convenient for access, then go for it. Also think about which hand you typically use to unlock the deadbolt—might make a difference!
It's generally best to have the storm door open towards the main flow of traffic, so in your case, that would likely mean mounting the hinges on the left. That way, it doesn't interfere with entering or exiting your home.
Most people do it with the hinges on the same side, but do what makes sense for your space and flow. It's not a huge deal either way, just take your daily movement into account.
