A few months ago, I had a roofing and siding company replace my roof and some siding on the ends of my house. They replaced the siding, but mentioned they couldn't handle the other areas around the house. Some of these spots seem to be part of the roof, so I was under the impression they could take care of those too. Should I reach out to a siding company or another roofing company for a quote on this? What type of contractor would be best for this kind of work?

That's strange! I really thought any company that works on both siding and roofing would tackle that too. By the way, the terms you're looking for are soffits (the underside part) and fascia (the vertical board at the roofline).
Funny enough, I had a painting company come in to replace mine. It sounds odd, but they often take care of repairs for rot and insect damage while painting, so they were totally qualified. Just something for you to consider!
Thanks for that tip! I’ll definitely look into it.
Typically, a company specializing in gutters will also manage fascia and soffits. It’s common to replace or refresh all three at the same time since the gutters have to come off to work on those areas.

I thought the same! Maybe they just weren’t interested in taking on the project. And yeah, the roofing terminology can get really confusing!
