I recently had a new roof installed in 2023, and as part of the project, several fascia boards were replaced. Unfortunately, the gaps between the fascia boards and the walls were left uncaulked, and now honeybees have found their way in and made a nest! The roofer claims that caulking isn't their job and that I need to hire a painter instead. Is that really the case? Should the roofer have done the caulking during the installation?

From what I've gathered, caulking typically falls outside the roofer's responsibilities. It's often seen as part of a painter's or a handyman's job to seal those areas up after installation. You'll probably have to hire someone specifically for that task.
But it's super frustrating when neither the roofer nor the painter owns up to it! Have you checked your contract? If it's not mentioned there for the roofer, you might be out of luck.
