I'm really curious about the high cost of drum sanders. I want to add one to my workshop, but I'm not sure if they're worth the investment or if I can find a good quality one at a lower price. Are there any brands that offer affordable drum sanders, or should I expect to pay a premium for quality?

I have the Jet 16-32, and while it wasn’t cheap, it's fantastic for smoothing out even small pieces. It's especially great for flattening things like end grain cutting boards after glue ups. Just be ready to spend a bit if you want something that really delivers on performance.
Yeah, drum sanders can be pricey! They're definitely worth it if you're working with tough woods or need to sand thin veneers. I've heard from a few pros that if you get a good one, it'll change your sanding game completely.
I've been searching for a while now, and honestly, there's no such thing as a cheap drum sander, even used. If you're serious about woodworking, you might have to invest a bit more to get a reliable tool.
