Why Are High-Speed Ratchets So Cheap on FB Marketplace?

I've noticed a lot of listings for new-in-box high-speed ratchets priced at $120 on Facebook Marketplace. It makes me wonder if people are buying pallets of returned items, or is there something else going on? Are they fake, or is there a good reason for these prices?

One theory is that some folks are getting the ratchets bundled with free batteries, and they just keep the batteries while selling off the ratchets. That could explain why there are so many available for cheap!

Yeah, it definitely makes sense! There are a ton of different starter kits out there, too, that keep popping up at similar prices.

There’s a promo at Home Depot where if you buy an M12 5.0 starter pack, you can snag a free tool—like the high-speed ratchet. So for $200, you could get both, and if you don’t want the ratchet, you could sell it! Maybe some people are unaware of this deal or got a bundle that can’t be returned easily.

I didn't even know about that deal—sounds like a solid way to get a good tool!

True, but not everyone lives near a Home Depot, which makes it tough for them to take advantage of those hacks.
