I've started growing several types of Zinnia seedlings indoors for a cut flower garden, and now that they've developed their true leaves, my cats have taken an interest in them. Is this something other cat owners have experienced? Are my cats just being quirky, and is it safe for them to eat these seedlings?

Totally normal for cats! I grow spider plants for mine, and that usually keeps them away from other plants. If your cats are persistent, consider putting them in a room that's off-limits or using physical barriers to protect your seedlings. Another option is cat grass; it can distract them from your flowers and is safe for them to munch on!
Cats are just curious eaters! Mine always goes after Zinnias in my flower arrangements. They're not toxic, but they might upset their stomach. Best bet is to keep those seedlings out of their reach!
I've had the same issue with my cat! I keep my plants on high shelves to keep them safe. Sometimes, I use an old hamster pen to create a barrier around my seedlings on the table. It's a great way to upcycle something while protecting your plants!

Totally agree! My cat loves the cat grass, and it really helps keep her away from other plants!
