Why Are My Drywall Screw Anchors Just Making Bigger Holes?

I'm trying to install some drywall screw anchors to hang a curtain rod, but every time I try, the screw just keeps making a huge hole instead of securing itself. What should I do?

Yeah, I agree with that. Also, if you're facing this issue, definitely grab a stud finder. It can really help you identify if you're hitting something too solid, which is causing the anchors to fail.

It sounds like the anchors might be hitting something solid behind the drywall, like a stud. For hanging a curtain rod, I wouldn't recommend using those types of anchors, especially if they can't grip anything. If you’re unable to find a stud, try using toggle bolts instead—they're much stronger for heavier loads.
