Why Are My Gardenia Leaves Turning Yellow Before Blooming?

I've got some gardenias that have started blooming, but I've noticed they've been dropping a lot of yellow leaves beforehand. Is this something I should be worried about, or is it just a normal part of the process?

Yeah, that doesn't sound normal. Gardenias can be picky, and yellowing leaves could suggest a few issues like humidity problems or even a lack of iron or nitrogen in the soil. Even if your soil acidity is fine, they might be craving something else!

I live in a humid area too, and I've been misting the leaves like I read somewhere. Could that help?

Gardenias definitely need the right conditions to thrive! If your leaves are turning yellow, it’s wise to check the soil's pH and moisture. Keeping the humidity up is crucial, but over-misting might not be the answer. Just make sure you’re giving them the proper care they need!

That's good to know! I wasn't sure if the misting would make a difference, but I guess balance is key.
