Why Are My New Nursery Floors Uneven?

I just had luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring installed in my nursery, and the guys are coming back tomorrow for some finishing touches. I barely got to check it out since I've been working all day, but now that I'm in the room, I can see the floors are definitely uneven. I'm planning to talk to the contractor about it in the morning, but I'm really curious about why this might have happened. Wouldn't he have noticed and mentioned it earlier? Should I be worried? I'm 9 months pregnant and this is stressing me out!

I can understand why this has you worried, especially at 9 months pregnant! If the install looks decent but feels off when you walk on it, that's definitely something to mention. It’s possible the installation might have had some hiccups that weren't obvious until now. I'd recommend checking if it's a pattern; sometimes, floors settle after installation. Talk to your contractor and keep a cool head; these issues can usually be fixed!

When it comes to uneven flooring, it could be due to a few different factors. Sometimes, the subfloor underneath isn't level, or it might not have been installed properly. If it's only noticeable when you walk on it or if there's a ball rolling around, it likely means there are low and high spots. Do definitely bring this up with your contractor tomorrow; they should be able to assess the situation and explain what's going on! Don't stress too much, but definitely get it sorted out before you bring the baby home.
