I've got over 75 plants, including a thriving variegated frydek, and have successfully cared for much tougher plants than pothos. However, every pothos I've bought recently has either rotted or just died out of nowhere! I'm known for being an underwaterer, so I don't think that's the issue. Plus, all my water-propagated plants are rotting in RO water, while all my other plants are happy and thriving. What could be going on?

Do you repot your pothos or clean the roots before planting them? They usually prefer a normal potting mix over something too chunky. Let them settle in for a bit and only water when almost dry—after that, they can be pretty easy to care for!
I've found that my pothos really thrive in a chunky mix and good ol' dirty aquarium water. Maybe ditch the RO water and try regular fertilization? They need a bit of tough love to thrive.
First off, what's your soil mix like? Sometimes the right combination can really make a difference!
I use a mix of potting soil, perlite (both big and small), orchid bark, coco chips, worm castings, and horticultural charcoal.

Yeah, I definitely do that. Thanks for the tip!
