Why Are Some New Windows Condensing and Others Not?

I recently had new windows installed in my house, and I've noticed something strange. Some of the windows that face south have condensation on the outside in the morning, while others do not. One window facing east has a large oval area in the middle that stays clear, unlike the rest of the east-facing windows, which are covered in condensation. All the windows are of similar size, yet their behavior differs. I don't have HVAC installed, and there's no difference in shading. Should I be worried about this condensation issue?

If these are new and it's just condensation in the mornings, you likely don't need to worry. Just keep an eye on them to see if the problem persists or worsens.

It could depend on whether your windows are single, double, or triple-pane. Double-pane windows generally minimize condensation, but if it's chilly outside and warmer inside, some condensation can still happen.

Got it! Mine are also double-pane, and still, I see some condensation in the mornings sometimes.

Condensation like this isn't too uncommon with new windows, even if they're only a few years old. Mine are triple-pane, and they act similarly, so it may just be a result of temperature differences at night.
