I've been scouring eBay for a Stanley No. 2 plane like the one I have, but it seems like there are barely any available. Has anyone else noticed this trend? What's going on with their availability?

They didn’t make many of these planes, and they aren't the best choice for actual use either. Collectors tend to grab them as soon as they show up. Honestly, they’re more cute than useful. The handle is a bit small for adult hands, making them tricky to use effectively.
I actually enjoy using my No. 2! It fits nicely in my hand and gives me some beautiful shavings unless I mess it up. It glides over the wood really well and is great for fine detail work, despite what others say.
Most of these planes end up in the hands of collectors. They scoop them all up as soon as they appear.
Yeah, I’ve seen about two Stanley No. 2 planes sold on eBay each month. It seems like they’re just not coming up that often.
