I just found a ton of dead ants scattered around the walls in my basement. We usually use pest control but have never encountered anything like this before. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas on what might be going on?

While it's tempting to joke about it being some family drama, I'd suggest looking at it more practically! If you’ve got dead ants, you might want to double-check with pest control to see if they’ve treated for ants, or consider checking if they’re coming from somewhere else. It’s always good to be cautious!
It sounds like you might have a serious ant problem. It's odd to find that many dead ones without any live ones around, but it could be related to a pest control treatment you had. Sometimes, ants will come out of hiding after treatment and die off. If it's a consistent issue, I’d recommend checking for nests nearby, or even looking into swarmers if termites are present.
