I recently relocated to Tucson from the Northeast after retiring, and I've been trying to improve my home with the help of contractors. Unfortunately, I've had some really awful experiences, like contractors not showing up or disappearing halfway through the job. Some have even lied about being licensed! It's been really frustrating, and I feel like I can't trust any contractors here. Is anyone else dealing with this?

I hear you! It seems like shady contractors are everywhere, especially in places like Arizona where they might take advantage of locals. The good ones are often booked solid with big projects, so the rest of us are left with those less reliable ones. Unfortunately, it’s become a hassle finding trustworthy help. Just gotta keep sifting through to find the gems!
You’re definitely not alone. I think it’s become pretty common to encounter these issues lately. It makes sense that the best contractors get their jobs through referrals, leaving a bunch of unreliable ones for the rest of us to deal with. Good luck out there!
