I've got a 5-year-old Kitchen Aid dishwasher that's been having some trouble lately. The detergent pods I've been using don't seem to dissolve anymore and just get stuck in the opened detergent door. I've checked that the door opens correctly during the cycle, so that's not an issue.
Initially, I thought that maybe putting dishes too close to the detergent door caused this, but that's not my problem now. Besides possibly getting a camera to look inside, does anyone have ideas?
I'm also curious if the upper or lower sprayers might not be working, but the dishes still come out clean even when the pods don't dissolve. I just want to make sure the sprayers aren't blocked or malfunctioning, and I'm careful to load the dishes so they don't interfere with the sprayers.

Does your dishwasher actually heat the water? It might be worth checking during the cycle to see if it’s getting hot enough. If it’s consistently hot at the end, it could just be that the heat isn’t maintained throughout the wash cycle.
