Why Can’t I Get My Ox Eye Daisy Seeds to Germinate?

Hey everyone! I was recently watching some gardening videos and I'm feeling a bit frustrated. I've been trying to sow what are supposed to be 'easy to grow' ox eye daisy seeds, but I keep failing miserably. Has anyone else struggled with sowing supposedly easy seeds? I'm planning to give it another go soon, but I'm worried they'll just end up not germinating again.

Ox eye daisies are usually pretty simple to grow, so it’s surprising to hear you’re having issues! Could you be facing no germination issues? Make sure you’re keeping them on moist compost and maybe try a different location for them. Sometimes, even the smallest changes can make a difference!

Hey! It’s possible you might be sowing them at the wrong time. If you’re trying to plant them now in mid-summer, it might be too hot for germination. It's best to keep them in a shaded spot or plant directly in the ground; they might not sprout until spring anyway. Just something to consider!

That's a good point! I did try sowing them in May, but I guess the heat might have affected it.

I've heard that many seeds won't germinate if it's really hot or really cold, so checking the temperature is key. You might try keeping them in conditions that mimic spring to see if that helps. Good luck!
