I'm not really a fan of my kitchen's divided sink with two separate areas. I think I'd prefer a single large basin instead. Can anyone explain the advantages of having a divided sink? What are the benefits of having two different sections with drains compared to one undivided sink?

A lot of people like having a divided sink because it provides a practical setup for washing dishes. You can fill one side with hot, soapy water for soaking, while using the other for rinsing. It makes the whole process smoother! Plus, it can help keep your washing area organized.
I'm in the same boat—looking forward to swapping out my two-bin sink for a large single one! Having that space really helps with washing larger cookware. Anything that can’t fit comfortably in one half tends to get frustrating. You definitely can’t soak big pans easily in a divided sink!
For folks with dishwashers, a single basin can be really beneficial. You won’t have to struggle with big pots and pans when rinsing, plus it gives you more room to wash bigger items all at once without worrying about dividing space!

But keep in mind, using a single basin can make rinsing off dishes before they go into the dishwasher a bit tricky since there's no separation.
