Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice. After washing dishes and doing laundry without any issues, I hopped in the shower an hour later only to find that the water pressure had dropped to a slow drip. I checked all the faucets in the house, and they're all experiencing the same low water pressure. Any idea what could be going on? I really appreciate any help you can provide!

First things first, check your water meter. If it’s still running while no water is being used inside, there might be a leak somewhere in your plumbing. Also, take a look at the type of pipes you have and whether they’re under your house. A sudden drop in pressure across all faucets often points to a leak. Don’t forget to ask your neighbors if there’s any maintenance going on with their water that might affect yours!
Did you happen to check if your water bill was paid? I remember a time when we searched everywhere for a leak, only to find the meter locked because the bill hadn’t been settled. It gave us all a good laugh, but it was a bit of a disaster before we figured it out!
Haha, that’s hilarious! I can totally see that happening. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the hardest to spot.
To really get to the bottom of this, start by measuring the incoming PSI to your house. That can give you a good indication of whether there’s a bigger issue at play.

Good point! Also, don't skip checking the main water valve. Sometimes it can get accidentally turned down. And yeah, if your water meter's spinning when everything's off, that points to a leak for sure. If there's a pressure regulator, it could also be acting up. Better to call a plumber if you can’t sort it out soon!
