Hey everyone! I'm not really a handy person, so I could use some advice. I've been having a recurring issue with my kitchen faucet. It develops a slow drip a couple of times a year, and I've noticed that I'm having to replace the handle washer every 6 to 12 months. I shared some photos of my faucet when I took it apart to show you all what I'm dealing with. The last time I replaced it, the old washer looked pretty flattened. The faucet isn't that old, so I'm wondering if I'm maybe using the wrong type of washers or if there's something else at play here. I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!

I feel you! I used to have a similar problem with an older faucet. If you're up for it, you might think about upgrading to a faucet with a cartridge valve. They tend to last a lot longer and usually don’t require as much maintenance. Replacing the whole faucet can be a pain, but it might be worth it in the long run!
From what you've described, it sounds like either the faucet isn’t the best quality, or there’s a simple fix you might be missing. Have you checked for any leaks in the pipe connections too? Sometimes, that can cause more pressure on the washers and wear them out faster.
Hey! I had the same issue with my faucet. It could be that the valve seat where the washer rests is corroded or damaged. This can cause the washer to wear out quicker than it should. Try checking that part; you can usually replace it if it’s too worn. For a quick fix, some people flip the washer over and use the other side if it’s not completely damaged. It might save you some trips to the store! Good luck!
Totally agree! Also, if you have the time, polishing the valve seat with some sandpaper can help extend its life too.

Thanks for the suggestion! I might just consider that if this keeps happening.
